Death of Wolverine: Logans Legacy #1

The art proves to be the biggest drawback, however. Granted, it was never going to be an easy transition going from Steve McNiven's work on Death of Wolverine to these fallout comics. Even so, these pages can be pretty rough with their overly heavy blacks and bizarre facial work. Too often facial expressions are completely mismatched with the dialogue or events in the script. Death of Wolverine: The Logan Legacy #1 shows some interesting concepts for how Wolverine will affect the Marvel Universe going forward. Despite this the execution is slightly underwhelming, with the issue feeling more like an extended preview. Due to this I can't wholeheartedly recommend this issue. Read Full Review

The mini-series lasts seven issues with the next five being handled by a rotating creative team and Soule coming back to wrap it all up. It'll be interesting to see what comes of it all, but this first issue doesn't provide me with much hope of what's to come in the many months to come. Read Full Review

I'm not sure sending Wolverine's enemies/sometimes allies, on a quest together is all that appealing. The one interesting thread was that Dark Wolverine learned that Wolverine was being sold - in pieces - in some market in some distance land. Beyond that, this book doesn't give me much to get excited about. It's an okay book that would have been far better served as a freebie teaser for the rest of the mini-series. As for Soule's Death of Wolverine: The Logan Legacy #1, it was pretty cool to see the likes of Logan's brats (genetically or not), Daken & X-23, get into it with Sabretooth & Lady Deathstrike, yet.. the issue served no more than talking heads. And promotion. Read Full Review

Charles Soule and Oliver Nome don't leave Wolverine a very strong testament in "The Logan Legacy" #1. In comparison to the carefully plotted "Death of Wolverine" series, it falters with a frustratingly ambiguous storyline and choppy artwork. On its own merit, it's already entirely forgettable. Do we really need this series?
