Because I know Deadpool would laugh if I gave it a 6.9, but it's definitely worth a better score than that. "Deadpool Nerdy 30" is an all-star team of "Deadpool" writers and artists, coming together for a lifelong tribute to our favorite mad mercenary. Read Full Review

A well done tongue in cheek retrospective on the character with Rob Liefeld laughing at himself at several points in the story. Read Full Review

Overall this issue was a celebration of everything that Deadpool is. It has great humor great art and a great overall arc from before birth to after death. It's a brilliant way to showcase so much creativity and an insane amount of fun packed into a single issue. Read Full Review

Overall, if you're a Deadpool fan, check this comic out. If you are new to the character, you may be slightly confused as Deadpool does not read like a traditional comic. He is all over the place. However, in the end, it is worth it. Read Full Review

Full of lowbrow gags, innuendo, and the good ole Cable appearance, Deadpool Nerdy 30 #1 has everything you love about Deadpool. It's part retrospective, part showcase"and a whole lotta fun. Read Full Review

As anthologies go, this is an okay collection. Each story is so short there's not a lot they can do, but there are at least three stories worth reading. Deadpool Nerdy 30 #1 is a celebration of Deadpool and in that, this book works splendidly, capturing the different aspects of the character. It's a reminder after 30 years Deadpool isn't just a one-trick pony. Read Full Review

But Why Tho? - Aaron Phillips

    Mar 08, 2021

Overall, there are some amazing stories in Deadpool Nerdy 30#1, and ones I enjoyed from some massively talented folks. That being said, eight stories packed into an issue, with that many authors, just leaves this feeling over-saturated with the tones clashing with one another. I like Deadpool, but Id give this one a miss personally. Read Full Review

If you're a big g deadpool reader then I'd say pick this up if not then maybe pass. This is just a bunch of short stories to celebrate deadpool turning 30. The stories are all pretty basic and lack any depth but one would expect that with celebration issues and most short stories. It wasn't terrible it had some decent parts but certainly nothing memorable.

This big grab-bag of Deadpool birthday strips runs a gamut from satisfying to regrettable, with none of it coming off particularly memorable. There are little bright spots worth appreciating, like Paco Medina's art and Kelly Thompson's dialogue. But on the whole, this is an easy skip for even the die-hard-est of Deadpool fans if they're pressed for time or money.
