Daredevil #6

This is a great start to what is surely to be another fantastic arc from Soule, Buffagni, Milla, and Cowles. The last arc was so fulfilling that it will beexciting to see what this teams does next with the great Elektra now in the mix. Daredevil #6 just gets it, it understands that Daredevil will never fully understand his feelings for Elektra and that Matt Murdock cannot resist her seductive charm. In "The Matrix Reloaded," Seraph tells Neo, "You do not truly know someone until you fight them." After seeing Daredevil's skills as a fighter and teacher in the first story arc, it's easy to forget he isn't always the toughest guy in Hell's Kitchen; "Daredevil" #6 provides a vivid reminder of that fact and proves just how well Matt and Elektra truly know each other. The fight definitely delivers on brutal action as Daredevil isn't ready for the ferocious attack unleashed by the assassin. As to the final panel's reveal of just what Elektra is after, that's going to take some explanation (but for that we'll have to wait at least one more issue). Worth a look. Read Full Review

The problem with this issue is in the characters. Daredevil and Elektra are usually great, Blindspot could be great, but even great characters need depth. We need to see these characters as more than just a costumed crime-fighter and lawyer, a side-kick, and an elite assassin. They don't become real until we see a more vulnerable, everyday human side to them, one we can identify with, or at least empathize with. Soule subtly hints at this, but really needs to show us more of Matt Murdock's humanity and his weaknesses so we can root for him again. We get a spark of Elektra's humanity and vulnerability at the end of this issue, so there is definitely hope. But Blindspot needs something more; we need to know who he really is, what defines his struggle in Hell's Kitchen, and what makes him want to train with an anonymous, costumed vigilante. If Soule can give us these, then this story will transform into so much more than what it is right now. Read Full Review

This issue feels to me like the first issue this series SHOULD have had, bringing readers in with a familiar villain, but with a new twist on their story. I love this books art, and I love the cover art even more. This is a well written story, and the fighting is visually stunning and extremely dynamic. I feel like this is starting to gel more with the Daredevil Netflix series, and that's a good thing. I liked that Blindspot had a brief appearance in the issue, and namedropping the Night Nurse was a nice moment as well. I really hope this is a big jumping on point for readers, because I am finally ready to commit one hundred percent to Daredevil's cause now. I love the half tone colors in this book, and I cannot wait to see what happens wit h the cliffhanger from this issue! more

More Elektra is always a good thing, and she is vicious in this issue - the art is also great, although I look forward to the return of Garney. I also look forward to finding out how they put Matt's identity back in the bottle.

I’ll never complain when Elektra is in an issue. Unfortunately, the art dipped in quality with this new artist and this issue was somewhat boring, even with that last page twist

Art is a very slight step down from Garney's, but still very good and a similar style that maintains the tone which I appreciate. This issue was more of a setup than anything, but it was well-written and a good re-introduction to Elektra.

Possibly the best issue of this run thus far. Elektra is super intense and delivers a crazy cliffhanger of a line at the end. I hope this opens the door for some emotional storytelling, Soule has thrived with that on other books, but so far not this one.
