Ron Garney's work compliments an art-centered story arc well. It has a painter's aesthetic and does amazing things with light, especially during the night scenes. I particularly like the way the light hits Daredevil and Blindspot's black costumes. The colors contribute substantially to the feel of this book. Matt Milla, the color artist on this book, deserves praise for the work he put into this book. Read Full Review

I love how this issue is leading to the bigger chapter as we see many New Yorker's getting impatient to find the antagonist. Much like the movie Summer of Sam,we feel what the lead is going for when bodies are piling up, only unlike Summer of Sam we only see partial acts of violence but the threat is still very strong even as we shift focus from Wilson Fisk to the real perpetrator of the crime. And of course there will be those who give into the hero's inclinations only to find that they must… to be continued. ***1/2 Read Full Review

There have been way too many leaps in logic for my taste in this arc. Also, too many moments where you just have to fill in the blanks yourself. I love Garney's art, but frankly, he is not using a style impressive enough to help the nonsense being written in this title. Read Full Review

Daredevil 599 sets the stage for the 600th issue while being a great issue all on its own. Daredevil is in a conflict with his greatest enemy: Wilson Fisk, while Blindspiot is in a conflict with his greatest enemy: Blindspot. They need help, so Matt assembles his friends: Danny Rand, Luke Cage, Misty Knight, Marc Spector, Peter Parker, Jessica Jones, and Maya Lopez. I can’t wait for next issue

Matt is sick of the nonstop political controversy and coverage surrounding Fisk and begs him to stop his scapegoating of vigilantes to distract from the city's real problems. Sound familiar?

Daredevil spends the whole issue obsessing over Fisk. Wilson successfully blamed Muse's cop killing on the Punisher and Matt can't abide the abuse of truth and justice. (2018 POLITICAL ALLEGORY AHOY!) His obsession ends up hurting Blindspot when the younger hero impatiently confronts Muse on his own. This is a deeply engaging story, but it's progressing slowly and with less memorable writing than it deserves. The art is likewise compromised; the structure is impeccable but the finishes are terribly sketchy.
