Daredevil #88

Daredevil #88 was another solid read. Brubaker is impressive with his ability to be so dependable and consistent in his writing. Even his "slow" issues that act as a transition between major story arcs are better written than most comics on the market. Even though we had a guest artist, the comic still looked nice and was enjoyable. Daredevil is still one of Marvel's best titles. It is well worth checking out. Read Full Review

The writer drops one or two hints about his long-running story into the mix, but for the most part this is a character study of an ordinary man in an extraordinary world who has started to realise just how precarious his position is. Caught between an impotent and corrupt FBI and a heroic friend who has been forced to abandon him as he flees the country, Foggys plight seems unlikely to affect the books core plot to a huge degree at the moment, but makes for a fairly illuminating character study for those of us who have been following the book for a while. Just give us some Daredevil in the pages of Daredevil next time, please. Read Full Review

I really enjoyed this. It was a nice break from the action, and Foggy's introspection about his and Matt's relationship was both poignant and touching. Even when the action is dialed down, Brubaker's consistently solid writing keeps me hooked. I'm absolutely loving this run.
