Champions #25

One issue that I do have is the focus on the Master of the World (still can't get over that name) as the main villain. He keeps popping up randomly and it just seems coincidental rather than part of some grand master plan. Our champions deserve a better villain. However, we haven't seen much of him so I'm giving Zub the benefit of the doubt toward turning him into something better. Read Full Review

A fun, fantastical new arc that takes the Champions into Weirdworld, this book is filled with great dialogue, wonderful character interactions, and some excellent world-building. It's consistently Marvel's best team book, and not one to be missed. Read Full Review

As the 25th issue milestone for Champions, this was the perfect statement that this books has so much more to offer than your average superhero team book. They go through the things that you find genuine about the importance of heroes to one another, they tackle the importance of sacrifice, and emphasize the importance of having a sense of duty to those who matter. The Champions take on a whole new persona when they enter into Weirdworld in search of Nova and Wasp. The adventure is fun and adds a few surprise cameos. This issue is the first issue to a new arc and works as a great starting point. I highly recommend it. Read Full Review

The Champions' arrival in Weirdworld gives us a lot of changes to adapt to. It's a swing-for-the-fences story premise. Though necessary stage-setting eats up most of this issue, the future looks bright. This first chapter shepherds us safely through some extreme character changes, and the question of what happens next is tremendously compelling. Read Full Review

I love RPG (Books one with the strange dices ^^ ) so this issue was a pleasure for some part. I find the start long. OK they have to recap what happen two month ago for those who jump in or forget it. Ok that make some connection with and consequences. But I find it a little bowering. I enjoy all part in weird world. Cover - Very nice & related 2/2 Writing - Smart. Zub really care for the character he write. I will enjoy this arc for sure. 2.5/3 Arts - A pleasure to see Isaakse back. With Dunbar. The panel are very beautiful. 3/3 Feeling - I love it. 2/2

In a 3rd of the issues, Jim Zub has already done so much more with the Champions than Waid has. Think about it, Zub has: created Snowguard, taken away Sam’s helmet, school shootings, Ironheart gets new suit, fight against Man Thing, fight against Thanos, adventure in Weirdworld, and fight against Master of the World like wow Jim Zub is really impressing me. ugh this is going to be a painful arc. don't they get that we come here to read the stories about the team, and not about alternate versions of themselves in some stupid other place? from a base of 6, this gets a rating of: 5. -2 because: an ugh storyline. +1 because: the instructions Viv gives the dog - I like it.
