While the stories are all vastly different, each writer is able to convey the characteristics that make Carnage a unique character. The off-kilter and chaotic energy jumps off of the panels, and any fan of Carnage should be able to find at least one favorite here. Having a limited set of colors to work with may present a challenge for some artists; however, without fail, each colorist uses a variety of shades to create visuals that match, and in some cases exceed, the fantastic writing. The basic description of a Carnage anthology should be enough to decide if this comic will appeal to you. If you love Carnage and any excuse to spend more time with the evilest of symbiotes appeals to you then you’ll love this comic. Anthologies of short stories don’t appeal to everyone, but having some real talent involved means most of the stories are above average quality. Carnage: Black, White, and Blood #1 is an interesting comic. If you're a fan of the character, go for it. It's entertaining and has some interesting takes. The problem with one dimensional villains like Carnage is their outdated view of mental health, a human who only focusses on violence needs other characters or background to act as a counter or mirror to the impact of the character. Venom has managed to shrug off this trope but his sociopathic first born is still stuck in the 20th century. Read Full Review

I really enjoyed this one I thought all three stories were good. The benjamin Percy one was my favorite I really love his style he is one of my favorite writers. The last story was really fun a roll of the dice to see where we go I love it

While Ewing's story was the star of this book, I did quite enjoyed the other two. Nothing particularly special, but still a fun read.

There are three stories here in this issue. The first is written by Tini Howard and is boring as hell, the art isn't beautiful either. The second has amazing pencils and is different. After reading it I am hoping Benjamin Percy decides to write a western series like Jonah Hex. The third is written by Al Ewing. The art may not be beautiful but Ewing does something different by turning this issue into a role playing game with Carnage as the main character.

Carnage's latest anthology kicks off with a couple of historical tales and a CYOA adventure. In general, I think Carnage is better suited to this premise than Wolverine, the previous star. There's great art throughout this issue. The scripts are problematic, though; for me, only the Ole West B strip hit the right mix of simplicity and originality.

What saved this? The "choose your own adventure" story - that's what set this book apart from being a mediocre cash grab , that surprisingly DC is just doing better with both "Red & Blue" & "Black & White". That story aside, this was a bad reminder of how bloated Maximum Carnage was (and how weird the concpet of Carnage's "family" was) & how mucn I don't want to see anyone in the Carnage symbiote, unless it's Casady. I don't think that sort of appreciation for the character is what Marvel was going for while putting this book together. - Audiomack.com/cvrthebard

All three stories are just as bloody, violent and gruesome as one would expect. The first story sees Carnage fighting Earth’s heroes in search of Shriek while retelling a story of his own. The ne xt sees the Carnage symbiote engaged in violent affairs in the old west. Finally, Carnage is given the Agent Venom treatment in a choose your own adventure styled story. I enjoyed all the works that went into this book but I just wasn’t feeling the stories too much. One thing is for certain, this cover art is absolutely insane! I’ll pick up the second issue because I wasn’t interested in the first issue of Wolverine: Black, White & Blood but I ended up loving that series. So we’ll see what happens. The 2nd story was enjoyable but other than that and the cover this was not very good to me. The choose your path was a cool idea but the storys not even that good and the first story was just overall bad in my opinion.
