Dec 01, 2022Whatever Tochi Onyebuchi intended to do with the first issue in this new arc has been completely abandoned in Captain America: Symbol of Truth #7. Sam forces his way into a Civil War on foreign soil because he chooses to do so, forgetting the plot elements set up in the previous issue and doing nothing to progress the plot in this issue. Really nice to see Nomad again and teaming up with Sam again after nearly 8 years. Action screens are solid too.

The paneling in this series is becoming so OPEN with a lot of empty SPACE. Story still chugging along though and we got a new castmember added. Next issue is gonna be wild (probably).

I wish the plot were a little more detailed than "there's a civil war in Mohannda now so Cap and Nomad can spend most of the issue fighting soldiers." It is nice (maybe?) to have Nomad back, though.

I must say, as much as part of me wants to stay, I have to drop both Cap books. The quality just isn't enough to justify it. I think this book has some good qualities. I think most issues have given some fun action. I just need to move on for now.
