Captain America #47

Captain America is, without a doubt, the best comic book available on the market. Not one issue since I started reviewing them at #25 when I joined Comics Bulletin has fallen below a four bullet mark. Looking back at the issues before them, they have not either. Ed Brubaker has broken two taboos in this series: first, he brought Bucky back and second, he killed Steve Rogers and put his former sidekick in the main role. This issue is yet another satisfying and superb installment in Brubaker's epic and he shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon. Read Full Review

In this issue, we get some Bourne-like remorse fromCaptain America. What really happens is that it highlights the fact that thecurrent Captain America is a criminal and murderer, a wanted felon in much ofthe world. Granted he wants to do well and improve now, but this is far fromwhat the original Captain America stood for. Im not complaining though. One issue that concerned me was the use of theword China to describe Taiwan, that is, if according to the writers, Taipei isstill located in Taiwan and not Communist China. Read Full Review

I definitely like Ross’ art over Guice’s but the boat scene with Natasha was drawn pretty coolly. This wasn’t the greatest arc ever but it wasn’t bad and felt uncomplicated following the grand epic that preceded it.
