It's so hard to try and find fault with this book even when it is dialogue heavy because this team has kept us interested and we can trust that the tax return of the plot is going to be glorious. Read Full Review

Comic Book Revolution - Kevin Lainez

Black Widow #9 delivered an action-packed issue with plenty of emotion to back it up. The reunion between Black Widow and Winter Soldier was elevated by the presence of Recluse, who is quickly becoming the biggest threat to Natasha's life. Now with Winter Soldier revealing that Nick Fury needs to speak with Black Widow while Recluse is still on the loose things should only get more exciting. Read Full Review

    Weird Science - Reggie Hemingway

Some great storytelling and plotting goes on a bit too long, but the surprise introduction of a familiar character and s nice cliffhanger is enough to keep my interest piqued. And let's face it, Waid and Samnee have generated enough goodwill that I would probably read three straight issues of all-black panels and no words before I figured out I'd been duped. It's just so fast paced and sumptuous that it's a sight to behold. The art of Samneee and coloring of Wilson shine through. It's so fitting the fast paced fight scenes and the bitter coldness of certain scenes makes it great eye candy. Can't wait for more.

Great action scenes in this issue, particularly the in-silhouette fight scene. I love to see the Bucky/Natasha team-up, and the cliffhanger was very intriguing. Excellent comic.

Beautiful use of negative space during the fight and feels from Winterwidow.

The fight between Natasha, Bucky, and Recluse was fantastically written and drawn. Although this series has excellent action, art, and espionage, it lacks character development and any sort of personality for Natasha

Kinda weak. Starts off with a death, which makes said death a little anti-climactic, and the fight with Recluse was a little silly in parts, namely the way Natasha got in close to Bucky who Recluse was standing directly beside with a gun, then was able to throw something at a lever that opened a trapdoor which only her and Bucky fell through, all while Recluse just...what? Stood there? To think that she wouldn't be able to react in time to that maneuver with how easily she handled the two of them together immediately after that is a little unbelievable. Samnee's art throughout the fight scene was also a bit lesser than I've come to expect from him.

I've always wanted to get into Black Widow comics because I love her in the movies so much, but I might have jumped in at the wrong issue. I picked up this issue after it was recommended by someone, but I still felt a little lost. It was a better reading experience than some other comics I randomly jump into. Black Widow has been called somewhere... Cold... And she stumbles upon Recluse holding the Winter Soldier hostage. Together they are able to break free, but not before Recluse escapes. This issue is filled with unsubtle depth between Barnes and Natasha, which is mostly the reason I picked this up. I have been keeping a couple issues to read all in one sitting so I'll be sticking with this for a couple issues, at least.

Why is this run so slow? Please, less action. Maybe it's what I should've expected from a Black Widow comic. I loved W and S's Daredevil, but I can't seem to get into this.
