"LONG SHADOW" Concludes!
The battle for Wakanda comes to a head! T'Challa has owned the path his secrets paved for the Hatut Zeraze's takeover, and ceded command of the resistance to his allies. But doing the right thing doesn't always lead to the outcomes - or answers - one would prefer. T'Challa's undue mistrust must face consequences - choices that will
alter the fate of Wakanda and its leadership...forever.

Landini delivers some impressive art throughout the issue. The action is visually stunning and the art style has a wonderful aesthetic that showcases the power of the characters. Read Full Review

Black Panther's first story arc comes to a powerful, emotional, and fitting ending as various threads are wrapped up and the future of the title character and Wakanda is decided. Not all the paths to this moment were clear or steady but the destination and the journey were worth the wait. T'Challa and Wakanda are left in some very interesting places, continuing to change both more than they have in years for the better. Read Full Review

Black Panther #8 concludes the arc with a technically final but hollow ending. The art is strong with plenty of action and energy. However, the writing ignores missing points about Akili's motivations, the supporting characters constantly demeaning T'Challa at every turn, and the final fight's ending will have you shaking your head. Pretty solid ending to the arc, with a very cool battle sequence. The art here is really nice and fluid, but I would've liked for more time spent on the battle. Still, its solid.

The big conflict resolves fast and sharp, with lots of dynamic action art and terse action-movie dialogue. This arc ends in a just-satisfying way and, when it comes to the plot, I'm happy to see it go. The character side, though! T'Challa buys victory for Wakanda at the cost of devastating personal loss. It feels like it's been an age since I've seen a Marvel story end so *bleak*, and this issue really hammers home how far T'Challa's fallen.

This arc ended on a dud, unfortunately.

I felt as that, for the conclusion of an 8-issue arc, this could have been a lot better. Especially considering how good the first few issues of it were. However, this was probably the worst issue of the series, unfortunately. Unlike certain other readers, I didn't think this was a bad book. Though, I felt like Ridley just dropped the ball a bit here. I think he set up a super intriguing story dealing with power, trust, and politics, only for it to lead to a generic battle with a bit of an underwhelming ending, in my opinion.
