This is another reason that Jason Aaron's needs to be writing the adventures of the Avengers 1,000,000 B.C. I am now a fan of this Iron Fist and would love to see more of her in another book or series. The visuals are incredible, with the art and colors breathtaking. The letters are good, though the lack of sounds does diminish their joy. Marvel, why isn't Aaron doing Avengers' stories set in the distant past? This is recommended reading. Read Full Review

This issue continues to prove Aaron's ancient Avengers are not only an intriguing new idea but a necessary one. The exploration of this team is exciting due to its ability to add a mythical nature to the mighty Avengers. Jason Aaron takes a break from his main Avengers story to tell a tale of the Prehistoric Iron Fist. This Iron Fist single handedly protected primitive humans from the dangers of the prehistoric world with the skill and ferocity that Danny Rand wishes he had. Similar to the ancient Ghost Rider issue, these 1,000,000 BC books have a finer lining to them and soft colors in contrast to the bright and bold art style of the present day Avengers. Going back to 1,000,000 BC at this point in the run felt seven issues too late. We get an Iron Fist origin that was a chore to get through and didn't feel important at all. In a book that has been struggling to stay focused, this trip backwards didnt help. Read Full Review

Great art and very well written and full of mysteries. 1000000 year Iron Fist is a compelling character and Mephisto has never looked more sinister. My only reservation is Im still on the fence about this 1000000 BC Avengers. Knowing Aaron he should be able to stick the landing, but let’s see

I was initially hesitant about having a “filler” issue in the middle of the massive story Aaron is telling. But this was an amazing stand alone issue with some surprisingly detailed character work. I quite like Fan Fei and hope she, and the other Prehistoric Avengers, get a further chance to shine in the future!

I was hesitant about this issue, because it was a break from the current day stuff. But this was actually really good! I like Fan Fei a lot. This issue also shows that there is some overarching plot with the 1,000,000 BC Avengers, regarding Mephisto. Jason Aaron is just having a lot of fun with this, and it shows.

Meet Fan Fei, first Iron Fist and exile of K'un-Lun. She wanders the savage Earth, opposes the scheming of Mephisto (and his Gorgilla lackeys), and eventually chooses the CaveVengers over the Thunderer's offer to end her exile. It's a fine standalone Iron Fist story (complete with ridicu-awesome kung fu move names), an excellent follow-up to #7's prehistoric world-building, and a surprisingly great artistic performance by Andrea Sorrentino. He adds nuanced character rendering to his usual layout excellence, and warm, soft color work brings out the details while also emphasizing the difference between this world and the higher-intensity one of the contemporary Avengers.

I have to say, I definitely liked Prehistoric Iron Fist's origin better than prehistoric Ghost Rider's origin story. This issue was beautiful to look at and I was not bored once. In between each arc I hope Aaron tells a the origin for each member of the Prehistoric Avengers.

A good read. I just wish theyd do a .1 type issue thing and just do all the origins of the old avengers much closer together. They are good but they seem a little pointless with it being so long since legacy. Also the ending of this was a little lackluster.
