THE AVENGERS' QUEST THROUGH TIME CONTINUES!
Japan, the Edo Period. They say he walks by night, wielding a blade forged by hellfire. And where he wanders, the penance flows, like fountains of blood. He is the fabled Ghost Ronin, the Samurai of Vengeance. And alongside the Avengers, he will make his final stand against the lightning swords of the devil himself.

I don't know how they've pulled it off, but this creative team has been building this story for nearly five years, and I'm still psyched to read each issue. Read Full Review

Your enjoyment of The Avengers #58 will hinge on how much you like the samurai Ghost Rider. Luckily it's rather easy to like the character since he's described so well, visually awesome, and is a unique twist on what we know of the Ghost Rider. Read Full Review

Avengers #58 may win fans over with the introduction of an epic new character, but it's narrative continues to move at a snail's pace, making it difficult to remain invested. Read Full Review

    The Comicbook Dispatch - StoryBabbler

    Jul 21, 2022

Avengers #58 shows readers the Ghost Ronin, a new Japanese Ghost Rider from the past who steals the show mainly due to his design. However, as with the previous issue, the Avengers are backup characters in their own book and they don't really do much except talk and stand in awe of the Ghost Ronin. Hopefully the next few issues actually have the Avengers doing something again. Read Full Review

The result is a series in a holding pattern where the best ideas in these roughly self-contained issues are buried beneath continuity maintenance. Read Full Review

Current run is so unpredictable, but it's still fun. Avengers are back at the stage and we see something like a plan. Ghost Ronin is top moment of this issue. I want spin-off miniseries with him.

This series while nicely introducing cool characters that will be wasted away, isn't an Avengers book anymore. I accept that we are on a 30-50 issue drip by drip to the finale and that just kills it for me no matter how well the characters can be sometimes. This book gets a 7.5 mainly because Javier Garron is flexing his art muscles and is killing it with his designs and tight inking. David Curiel is almost out-doing Garron with his wonderful colors. The art makes this issue work. Still it might be time to drop this book and Avengers Forever and wait for the Avengers to start doing some avenging in their own book. I'll give the next issues a shot but I already know the answer.

Slightly better than last issue, because I care slightly more about these random new heroes the Avenegers are helping. Aaron's script makes me care this time. I just think Avengers didn't need a less-than-straight-forward arc right now.

Jason tries soooooo hard...but it just doesn't work!! His current Punisher is great(!) and this issue of the Avengers even has an old fashioned Marvel ending BUT please, please let someone else write this comic!!!!!!!!!! It's been 5 years(!) since someone else held the reins, c'mon Jason give another writer the opportunity...
