Avengers #672 is what happens when superheroes stop being polite and start getting real. Fingers crossed they can put aside their differences and have a day unlike any other once again by standing together and facing down whatever else Mark Waid and company plan to throw at them next. The actual story of The Avengers #672 is kind of generic and doesn't do much to establish how "Legacy" will differ substantively from what came before it. Waid's characterization is sharp as ever, though, so it's not a total bummer that some things have stayed the same. Read Full Review

So nothing groundbreaking plot-wise, but serviceable enough. The characters seem well-written, even if I'm not particularly interested in them. The art is fine, but again, nothing groundbreaking. I guess that's just how the book feels to me: It's fine. It's a standard, slightly above-average book. Read it if you're particularly interested in the characters or the teams. If you're not, I'd definitely say give this book a pass. Read Full Review

#672 isnt a bad book, but I cant quite recommend it either, especially since you would need to follow Champions as well to get the full story (something which seems like a baffling move in what is supposed to be a new era of both books). Give this one a pass. Read Full Review

Comic Book Revolution - Kevin Lainez

Avengers #672 was a solid kick off to the crossover with Champions. Mark Waid shows his clear understanding of each member of both teams. The different team dynamics and focus on the threat against Earth help make this a story that is worth giving a try if you are a fan of the Avengers or Champions in the post-Marvel Legacy future. I've been waiting for the Avengers/Champions showdown for a while and this didn't disappoint. I'm glad their is an actual antagonist and threat to the world instead of just a big fight between the Avengers and Champions. Art is amazing

This issue is really awesome I have not been a fan of the Mark Waid run so far. The Kang arc was okay but the Mike Del Mundo art really hurt it for me with the exception of the Thor one-shot Secret Empire tie in I liked that one and I consider the issue before this current one to be god-awful. But this issue is exactly how a superhero comics should be written it was fantastic and the art by Jesus Saiz was nothing short of incredible.

One of the things that I love that Mark Waid does is relationships between characters. If you read All New All Different Avengers with Spider-Man (Miles), Nova (Sam), and Ms Marvel (Kamala) along with their solo series there was a building of friendship there. This came into play when they formed the Champions after disagreeing with the veteran heroes in the team. Bringing them together he is able to play with those divides and close friendships again. The two teams are forced to work together in order to stop a rogue meteor from crashing into the Earth. Kamala puts aside her anger at Sam taking charge of both teams for the greater good until after the danger has passed. Something that grows her position as leader of the Champions, seeing t more

A crossover clash that's been building for a year, Avengers vs Champions delivers on all the interpersonal drama without sacrificing any action. The only negative is del Mundo's absence.

Well I was afraid of a silly battle between team. But I find the story pretty good. They use the Counter Earth once More & I love that. We follow both team & for new they try to work together. That's a pretty good story in my opinion. The art is not my cup of tea but that may have been way worse. I also appreciate the recap about the avengers, even if a little surprise they don't place Voyager in it (For now). I wait for the Champion with some hope, and I thanks Mark Waid for that !

I have a lot of back issue Avengers issues from he first volume, but I have not read any new Avengers comics in my life. I figured with the new Marvel legacy it would be a good time to jump in since I am also reading Champions at this time. For starters, I was really impressed with the art. Saiz killed it on Captain America: Steve Rogers and his beautiful art is now in this book. The story itself did not explain much to what was going on. but that is fine because it is kind of making it a mystery at this point. The scene of them trying to stop the meteor was really cool. (except it was kind of lame to even imagine that Spider-webs no matter how strong they may be would stop a meteor) Overall, I really enjoyed this issue, it was good startin more

I haven't followed any of Waid's Avengers since the first 0 issue. I did read the first few issues of Champions and enjoyed them fine. This issue here I got suckered into due to renumbering (what can I say, I like big numbers better than small numbers and will enjoy the 3-6 months that Marvel reverts to big numbers). That said, this issue works well as a reintroduction to everyone and does a great job of setting the two teams against each other subtly without the unnecessary fisticuffs. Thought the art was top notch too. Good mix of old school with new school facial expressions, layout and color. $24 seems like a lot for the whole story so I'll probably wait my six months until its up on MCU to read the rest, but once it is up, I'll read more

The Avengers and Champions are thrown together by some fast-paced Counter-Earth mayhem. This kickoff features a great plot, intriguing foreshadowing, decent characterization, terrific art, and Good Lord The Dumbest Science. At least the characters who point out (accurately) that Counter-Earth is scientifically impossible are different from the ones that think they can use webshooters to catch an extinction-level asteroid on the fly. It's both Spideys that are guilty there, plus Falcon and Viv Vision. Between the four of them, *somebody* should really have the 9th-grade physics knowledge to spot that even with "super-tensile webbing," they're tying themselves to thousands of tons of rock - how are Falcon and Viv supposed to slow it down? more

This was okay. It settled into a fairly standard plot, but I generally liked the interactions between the characters. Jesus Saiz is pretty fine on pencils. Oh, and I almost skipped the little 3-page Avengers origin synopsis at the back, but I read it and found it charming. So, there you go...solid, but I'm sure better lay ahead
