The artwork is fine although the alien technology doesnt seem so alien. The characters faces and bodies are great to look at. However, some characters face, like Colossus, have a tendency to change from frame to frame. The cover of this issue was awful and looked like anything from the 1990s. One would think that with such a great artist, more care would be used to provide stronger covers. Read Full Review

Astonishing X-Men #19 was a good read. Whedon continues to deliver a nicely plotted story arc. I definitely think that we are in store for a wild ride with the next issue. Astonishing X-Men is still one of Marvel's more entertaining titles and is certainly worth your hard earned money. Read Full Review

Whats more, Whedon opens with a bit of story about Breakworlders who are opposed to what their government is doing, which complicates how the enemy is viewed in this story. Instead of them all being bad people, you see that there are good guys as well. So the X-Men cant just go around killing them all in defense, because readers will go, He just killed Timmy, who was doing what I think I would do in his shoes, instead of, He just killed some alien, whos gross and totally different from me. Agent Brands role is crucial to this issue, and Whedon effortlessly morphs her from more annoying than S.H.I.E.L.D. Director Hill (whom she already outclassed mercilessly in a previous issue) to a woman doing her job in true Nick Fury style. Why did she kidnap the X-Men? Because she needs super-heroes to save Earth from aliens, and didnt have time to ask politely. And its not even against the Kree or Skrulls, but new aliens created just for this tale. Had it not been for Agent Brands tactical idiocy, I may have given this issue of Astonishing X-Men , but Brands apparent lack of intelligence, which reflects Whedon not thinking things through, forces me to knock another bullet out of the chamber. Read Full Review

The Villain

After the whole series has had appearances from Ord the Breakworld we finally get a chance to see the Breakworld and the ruler of their world in issue #19. Whedon appears to be setting up a showdown between the Breakworld and the X-Men. Kitty Pryde remains awesome as more cracks begin to show between her and Colossus. Unstoppable appears to be a great kick off to Joss Wheddon and John Cassady's final arc of Astonishing X-Men.

Fun issue. Really worried that this run will end and there will still now going to be an explanation as to why Colossus was profecized to destroy Breakworld.
