In this final issue of Amazing X-Men, the great art can’t hide the fact that the plot of Age of Revelation has no substance. There is no original idea. The revelation (sic) of Revelation‘s plan is just some sci fi bullshit that doesn’t contribute anything to, say, Doug Ramsey‘s character development. It feels completely random. This is telling me that there is no underlying theme to this whole event except that, apparently, Marvel felt the need to create an Age of Apocalypse anniversary story. There is one final special coming out to wrap this mess up, but make no mistake: this event has simply been going through the motions without any stakes at all, and it’s gonna fizzle out like an old man‘s fart - just like the recent Doom event or Imperial did. Marvel, what are you doing? more
