As telegraphed and and predictable as this story was, it could have been a whole lot worse. Thankfully, a neat twist near the end and some wonderful artwork by Greg Smallwood actually made it somewhat enjoyable. Also, I must admit that the issue's lone action scene was pretty fun. Read Full Review

Norman Osborn takes center stage for a mystical flight of fancy. It's equal parts foreshadowing and "what if" episode, and being drawn by Greg Smallwood really nails down the sinister parallels to the last volume of Moon Knight. Dan Slott's script shows admirable economy, pushing a slender premise no further than it can endure and milking plenty of fun out of it. This is far from the last we'll see of Norman, but the mystical path shown here is wisely left as a road not taken.

Cool one-shot featuring Norman Osborne searching for the madness that has consumed him all his adult life. The story is fun and interesting but the real treat here is the Greg Smallwood art. With Stuart Immonen as the regular artist, it's not likely to find a fill-in who is in the same league, but they've done it here. I think a tandem of Immonen/Smallwood as ASM artists is any Spidey fan's dream.

The art really suited this story and even the writing was fine. A really decent one shot about Osborn, with implications that this is only a beginning of a bigger story.

Greg Smallwood is probably my favorite artist so hearing that he was doing an ASM book just made me so happy. The story itself was interesting throughout and I think the more I keep thinking about it, it just gets better in my head. I really liked the concept and the execution. This is definitely a teaser for more stuff down the line, but what a teaser. The art was awseome. I'm really just a sucker for anything Smallwood.
