Monkeys Fighting Robots - Roger Riddell
Dec 07, 2011This two-parter does a solid job of reintroducing O.G. Vulture, Adrian Toomes, and establishing him once again as a credible threat to Spider-Man " which is saying a lot, considering Toomes has to be an octogenarian at this point. Dec 07, 2011Giuseppe Camuncoli's art style is a bit unusual for a Spider-Man comic, but certainly effective for this story. Klaus Janson's inks bring an even more harsh and jagged edge to Camuncoli's lines. The darker edge suits the new take on Vulture and his crew. Dec 08, 2011First off, sorry for how sucky that review turned out, but as I said, I am dead tired and barely keeping my eyes open at this point! Um, as for this issue, it was okay. Dec 08, 2011All in all this was an entertaining 2 issue story arc. There was by no means a definitive conclusion so I'm pretty sure the Vulture will be playing an upcoming role in Spider-Man's near future. Read Full Review

Weekly Comic Book Review - dfstell
Dec 10, 2011Pretty good. Not great though. There is a lot of really strong material in here regarding Peter and Carlie's relationship (with some MJ thrown in). But, that coloring just kinda drapes the issue in a "blah" feeling that makes it hard to appreciate the good parts. Graded separately, the script is as good as anything Slott's done month-to-month and Camuncoli's art isn't awesome, but it's a solid B to B-, but that coloring".Ugh" Read Full Review
