This is not a comic to be taken lightly, but it is a comic that might be lightly taken by any fan of Spider-Man, new or veteran. If you find yourself with a spare fin burning a hole in your pocket this Wednesday, keep in mind that there are zero calories ingested in the act of reading a comic. This comic might just give you a fuzzy feeling inside too, as it reminds you that even though things may not always look up for Peter Parker, there are certainly times it is well worth it to look Peter Parker up. This extra-large issue might also carry an extra-large price tag, but it's still great value for money. Slott and Romita's story alone is 61 pages, and that's almost three issues worth of content for the price of less than two. If you buy this issue, you're essentially getting an entire three-issue Amazing Spider-Man arc by two A-list creators -- along with a whole host of backup strips, all of which are brand-new (no reprints here) -- for less than five dollars, and that's not a bad deal at all. While this issue is a mixed bag (again, which is par for the course with many anthology comics), its definitely worth the price of admission for the strong bits alone. That was big! And I'm talking only about the main story. But there are also many shorter ones. Not like they were needed... But most of them were surprisingly really cool. A great issue overall. This is what pretty much every milestone issue must be.
