Oct 09, 2016The art equals Taylor's script in every respect. Nik Virella's character designs are deceptively simple, well-suited to both action sequences and the humorous talking-heads scenes. Yet Virella sneaks surprising amounts of detail into the backgrounds. Veteran inker Scott Hanna delivers his usual stellar job and the colors by Michael Garland are well-chosen throughout. Oct 10, 2016Tom Taylor gives the reader a pretty kick ass start to the Enemy of the State story and I'm all in. Things are about to get very bloody and it's not only exciting, it's personal. While the issue may be more recap than long time readers would like, I appreciated it and think that anybody looking to jump on this book would as well. Really, there is no reason not to join the party this month! Read Full Review

The GCRN - Daniel Clark
Oct 18, 2016Laura and Gabbys relationship continues to grow. It makes sense when you think of the history of Wolverine. Back when Logan was alive he would often be partnered with a daughterly figure to soften him as a character. Tom Taylor has taken that tried and true concept and made it work for Laura in this series. Read Full Review

Oct 06, 2016The original "Enemy of the State" was a watershed storyline for Wolverine, influencing many stories that followed in the years to come. The hope is that "Enemy of the State II" will do the same for the new Wolverine. So far, this arc seems to be on the right track. Read Full Review

Comic Book Revolution - Kevin
Oct 07, 2016All-New Wolverine #13 firmly establishes "Enemy of the State II" as a personal story arc for Laura Kinney. Tom Taylor did an excellent developing the story around who Laura is in the present and was in the past. By doing this it makes "Enemy of the State II" not feel like it is a sequel. Instead it will be a story arc that will stand on the strength of its main character. If you haven't read All-New Wolverine yet than I highly recommend jumping in with this new arc as it is one Marvel's must-read comic books. Read Full Review

Oct 08, 2016Overall I really did enjoy this issue, but I do have high expectations for the story arc. It is a little too soon, but we are off to a pretty good start. I do recommend picking this one up and this is also a great jumping on point for new readers. Read Full Review

Very recap-heavy, however considering that some of the concepts the story will be touching on haven't been addressed in a while this is understandable, and Taylor handles it very well. Most of the issue is spent on establishing Laura's circumstances and setting the plot in motion. The biggest weakness is the art. Virella's lines, especially faces, are very rough. This is particularly a step back from the previous art teams, whose characters were wonderfully expressive.

Pace was a little slow but solid art and I'm glad the best character in the series, Jonathan, continues to play a role in the series. Yes, Jonathan is better than Wolverhampton. Fight me

A slow but enjoyable first chapter of an arc which seems interesting. The reason of her anger is too simple in my opinion though. The art isn't bad, but the faces aren't those of the characters, because they're all the same. As a remake of Millar's "Enemy of the State", the arc seems different, which surprised me.

The fleet of 747s flying in close formation was downright silly.

Not a fan of the art in this one. Maybe I'm one of the hold outs but I'm still struggling with Laura as Wolverine. Maybe that is keeping me from really enjoying this title. I still think they should have just gave X-23 her own book and called it something else. As fun as Gabby is, I just have a hard time having her as a sidekick and then Jonathan as their little pet. None of it gives a Wolverine vibe except that Jonathan is actually a wolverine. I think this book would have had more of an impact, for me at least, if Logan had actually killed Gabby.
