String #5
| Writer | Paul Tobin |
| Artist | Carlos Javier Olivares |
| Cover Price | $4.99 |
Being kidnapped is a major problem. Getting taken to a second location is a worse problem. Having the kidnapper be someone who's already killed several other people, and who can easily get away with another murder? Yeah, that's a definite complication. Also, ice cream, and Luke NOT reuniting with an old flame, and an unexpected liaison, and Joon desperately hoping to find the right string to wrap things up nicely, rather than the string that will break! Written by multiple Eisner-award winning Paul Tobin, and drawn by the amazing Carlos Javier Olivares!

You Don't Read Comics - Russ Bickerstaff
May 02, 2025Tobin and company maintain a tightly-woven plot from beginning to end with an exteded cast that has some very interesting psycholigical quirks. It all feels so well-composed from beginning to end, though it might not have felt like much in the early issues. Tobin and company build-up a lot of narrative momentum over the course of the first several issues in the series that finds a graceful way to draw to a close at issues end. Its sharp stuff from beginning to end. There might not be a whole lot of originality in the periphery of the plot, but Tobin and company have delivered some very likeable characters to the page and that goes a long way towards bringing it all to a satisfying close. Nerd Initiative - Yancy Arce
Apr 23, 2025As much as I enjoyed the art in this issue and in this series, the conclusion to this arc was poorly written. There is a good, compelling and interesting story here. But it feels rushed or unfinished in certain areas. For example, Finch's reason for going after Yoon is hallow at best. If there were more issues, I'm positive the writer would have explored a more reasonable motive for the antagonist. Maybe Yoon and Mayfield would have more time to thoroughly investigate Finch and seek justice for the nameless victims. Instead, we got Finch blaming and kidnapping Yoon for is brother explosive demise. Read Full Review
