Witchblade #11

Bennett continues to cast Sara in a direction of fantasy horror as the 11th issue becomes the 12th. The gritty street-level action is likely to return to the series on the other side of what has been a thoroughly enjoyable trip into the fantastic as the series reaches the end of its first year. This was an ok issue. Art was great, some of the details are really nice and the fight scenes really feel kinetic. So good work on the artists. They continue to improve every issue it feels. Really getting a feel for things. As for the story, it isnt bad, it isnt good. It moves forward but it feels like a mess on a mess. Stuff is happening for the sake of happening it feels. Like unless this is explained it feels like 'and now sara sees X or now sara must do X' without actually explaining it. That is not great story writing. Also some of the extra words added to the fight scenes are... not needed and actually take a way from it. Let me enjoy the art and the excellent fights. That is what is carrying this series for me at least.
