You Don't Read Comics - Russ Bickerstaff

Bennett is doing a remarkable job of bringing a character into a moral sophisticated sort of a storytelling style that embraces both the magic and the street level crime that really could have been a much bigger focus of the original series. It's fascinating to see where she's going with it and specifically how she paces and breaks up a single issue into various and that all seem to be amplifying each other between her personal and private life and her professional and mystic life. Its a very sharply-defined balance. Read Full Review

Some good fight scenes in an issue that finally delivers. Finding out the chief of the precinct isnt corrupt is quite interesting. Not the twist I expected. I do wonder why he is acting corrupt though. Maybe he really is trying to make right by Sara and his guilt for failing her father? A lot of interesting things to unpack there. Jackie's characteristics here are great. I am enjoying how he is portrayed here. Good start. This run is really lumpy, most issues are kind of lacking but then you get something like this which is a good issue.
