Kieron Gillen has strong storytelling that keeps the reader loving and hating characters, and keeps the reader interested. Jamie McKelvie and Matthew Wilson's combined efforts create breathtaking, attractive, and vibrant characters. The Wicked + The Divine #41 pumps the brakes just a tad but still delivers some impressive moments for readers and sets the perfect hook to keep them coming back for the next issue. The creative team is working at the highest possible level, delivering a story that once again rises above the rest with its pitch perfect characterization and plot. The WicDiv team isn't holding anything back as they rocket towards the series' conclusion. I've expected a lot of answers and reunions and we're getting them in spades. I love seeing Luci and Laura reunite, and expect literal fireworks when Inanna finally learns what horrors Baal has been committing all along. Even though the issue is fast paced, we don't lack for character moments or lose the plot. Read Full Review

Overall, The Wicked & The Divine #41 embraced a lot that was issues in the making. We have reached that point in the series where things are really happening on both sides. It's not the time for gods to still be figuring things out, now is the time for them to make real decisions about their futures. Particularly those who have something to still fight for. Though this installment had to concern itself with some needed bookkeeping, there was still plenty of great emotional beats and satisfying character moments to be had. WicDivs finale keeps barreling ever closer, and this issue has just increased my cant even quotient. If this kind of quality momentum continues, Ill be an emotional wreck after reading that upcoming final issue. Read Full Review
