    Comic Watch - Nicholas Osborn

    Apr 09, 2019

The Walking Dead #190 is another explosive issue that sees near-unprecedented levels of conflict for the series quickly come to a head. Building on recently boiling tensions, this issue expertly pushes the story forward with intense character developments and classic TWD action. Read Full Review

Ever since the introduction of the new Governor, I've been expecting her to act like the old Governor, so this issue doesn't shock quite as much as it might have, but it sets up a new frontier of conflict. Read Full Review

Walking Dead #190 brings something to the table that has been missing for a long time with this series, Momentum. There has been a drastic improvement in the comic in the last few issues and it involves Robert Kirkman finally getting to the point with the CommonWealth.  Mercer has staged his coup and seems to be forcibly dragging Rick to his side.  While this is happening a massive zombie horde approaches the town which threatens to make the entire conflict moot.  Maggie shows up out of nowhere with the Hilltop to assist and we end up with the biggest cliffhanger that I've personally read in the book. I started reading the series with the current storyline so I'm not being hyperbolic. I also realize that I'm a couple of months a more

Another solid issue. Maybe it's the fact that things are actually happening. Although, the way we got to this point is like a comedy of errors. Everyone had to do something dumb to get here. But hey, I'm willing to forgive it because, goddamn, did this series need to go somewhere fast.
