You Don't Read Comics - Russ Bickerstaff

    Oct 18, 2023

Having firmly established the overall premise of an intrepid investigation into an alien world, Thompson is moving ahead, very clearly, in a very cool way, into a fascinating new direction or an adventure series. The reader learns a little bit more about the characters as they interact with another world that doesn't appear to be dangerous on the surface but is clearly going to be apocalyptically awful. It's a very delicate kind of brilliance that Thompson's working with. Read Full Review

    AIPT - David Brooke

The Cull #2 is a great second issue, opening up the fantastical world while further developing the characters. This series is quickly becoming my favorite fantasy series of 2023. The Cull is richly imaginative and deeply human. Read Full Review

    Nerd Initiative - Jeremy Bowersock

This is turning out to be a unique character driven adventure. The relationships between the characters are well written and feel real. The mystery of the world they have found themselves in is only growing and with the introduction of a shapeshifting being with the ability to communicate raises the stakes. Read Full Review

Comic Book Revolution - Kevin Lainez

The Cull #2 does an excellent job carrying the momentum created by the first issue forward. The dynamic between the cast shines as much as the mysterious world they are exploring together. It all works to create greater investment in finding out how everything will turn out in this story. Read Full Review

So are we going to move on? Okay, fine. Were in. The Cull is staying on top of my to-read list because the art is just so damn great and not all of the characters are idiots. Theyve got three more issues to make up for the eye rolling elicited by the middle of this sophomore installment. Read Full Review
