Sep 22, 2026Terminal #3 has plenty of big ideas, but three issues in, the series remains frustratingly reluctant to explain why its cosmic conflict matters. Robert Kirkman and Joe Casey keep piling mysteries onto the Liberators and Oppressors while introducing even more strange players, making the motivations and stakes hard to grasp. Andy Kubert delivers the superhero spectacle and some wonderfully gruesome violence, but the characters haven't yet generated the excitement promised by those early X-Men comparisons. The cliffhanger offers an intriguing connection back to the debut, though Terminal needs to start providing answers, or why are we even doing this? Read Full Review

Okay, now I’m hooked. While the heroes and villains fighting still reminds me of the worst 90s X-Men issues (no wonder, it’s the same artist), the dialogue between Modulok… Molokox… Multibot… whatever its name is, and its host(?), whose name I completely forgot, seems to hint at greater, more intriguing concepts. I really hope I’m right and this whole “superbeings beating the shit out of each other” stuff is just a façade for something deeper and more thought-provoking to be revealed later in the story.
