This is a very weird intersection of genres, but the end result is a very enjoyable jaunt that I'm going to be following very intently. Smith and Cardinali play off each other incredibly well, and I can't wait to see what future shenanigans are on the horizon. Read Full Review

All in all,Slumber #1is a fun read. Tyler Burton Smiths dialogue is quick and witty. From the beginning, the waking and dream worlds stand clearly defined by the art and character designs. This keeps the shifting between the two worlds from becoming too jarring for the reader. The concept of the story allows for plenty of growth and exploration of both Stenson and Finch. Meanwhile, keeping them apart in this first issue leaves something to look forward to in the future.Slumber #1definitely deserves a spot on your weekly pull list. Read Full Review

The issue begins with a detective duo investigating the latest murder caused by a possessed person.  Theyre the typical clich detectives, and they have no idea of the magnitude of whats going on.  So much of the issue is spent with Stetson, that the detectives come off as bland and flat because we get to know nothing about them.  By the end of the issue, its inevitable that their paths will cross with Stetson, so hopefully, at that point, theyll be fleshed out more.  Maybe Stetson will enter their nightmares so we can see what makes them tick? Well that was a pretty weird and wonderful first issue. And it should be no surprise that Tyler Burton Smith was able to transfer his twisted mindset into a graphic novel. The question is, why has he not done it sooner? Not only is it a really good read, it has vivid eye-catching artwork. Special mention to the Labyrinth panels! Fun, visually creative premise with a solid mystery and some strong twists and turns for a #1; sets the groundwork up for what could be a very fun series and if they're lucky, a TV SERIES within the next 1 - 5 years or so on some streaming service, somewhere.

Slumber 1 Un comic producido por Images comics. Escrito por Tyler Smith e ilustrado por Nathan Fox y Vanessa Cardinali. Una serie regular que empezó el 16 de marzo del 2022. Una detective/cazadora de sueños es contratada por clientes para acabar con sus pesadillas, podemos ver 4 personajes principales, dos cazadores y dos detectives. Los cuales están unidos por una el mismo objetivo, quien es un ente que posee cuerpos sonámbulos y comete asesinatos. Una primicia simple pero cumplidora. Ahora, con ya eso dado vamos a dar nuestro review: Lo Bueno. La historia: Fácil de seguir, con una base básica que no llega a confundir al lector, ya que, al ser un poco lineal a la hora de contarla, no se necesita estar revisando paginas ant eriores para así no perder ningún detalle. Llamativa para los lectores que les apasiona los misterios y quieren salirse del género de super héroes El arte: Un arte muy acorde a lo que se quiere contar en la historia, una historia violenta y sobrenatural, realmente el dúo de Vanessa y Nathan hacen lucir a la historia bien. Lo Malo. La historia: Para un lector que desea algo mas profundo, este no es su comic, ya que, como mencionamos es muy lineal y bien predecible. No es original hasta cierto grado y puede llegar a ser un poco más de lo mismo. Lo @#$%^ Realmente pudo ser un poco menos obvio lo relacionado con el ente asesino y sus últimos paneles con dos de los protagonistas, ya que, desde las primeras páginas uno ya puede identificar qué es lo que va a suceder en este primer volumen y como lo “pueden” resolver. It's definitely a good concept but, we will need to see more moving forward. It was a pretty good start though. Liked how weird and wild it was. Very entertaining.

A strong first issue with a lot of potential!! We're introduced to Stetson, who is basically an exterminator of nightmares, as she blasts through a client's carnival dream. But something else has potentially been tampering with people's dreams, a dream spirit seems to be out for revenger for the one they call "Dream Eater" resulting in the violence to start spilling into the real world. The art is mostly flawless throughout, simple and effective all because of the vibrant colours that pop off the page. The book is gritty with a playful undertone, with the art summing up each panel splendidly. The story is fresh, intriguing and well paced, leaving a few loose ends to entice the reader to continue into the next issue.
