While the pacing and design of Saga #37 may be familiar (bordering upon formulaic), its focus is fresh. This particular arc has already received a title, a rarity for this series, "The War for Phang". The reason why is immediately clear. Saga took a risk by leaping forward in time, but these past few issues have shown that both Vaughan and Staples are more than capable of handling the task by introducing new character designs, character developments, and exciting storylines to come. While Sage #37 spends its time catching readers up with its cast, it is by no means boring or uneventful and proves that quiet, smaller moments are a vital part of a meaningful journey. Saga is back, and once again we're better for it. Brian K. Vaughan and Fiona Staples circle back to their first presented conflict, diving further into the divide between Landfall and Wreath. It's a setup issue, but one that effectively lays out both the conflict and those who stand in harms way. As perhaps the most real world arc yet, this issue is a promising first start. Saga #37 looks to be another story arc with potential. Still pushing us forward while addressing that war between Wreath and Landfall which has not been as big as you probably forgot it should be till this point. Because good story writing does do that to you. Read Full Review

I like the development of Izabel and how everyone is growing. The story is about to kick in, this issue is more an introduction to the next arc.

I wonder if BKV tells Fiona Staples to draw dicks to distract people from the fact that all the story threads BKV is laying out there barely advance issue to issue, if at all.
