Revival #12

I'm really not lying when I say that this is a great jumping on point for new readers. It's not even being "billed" that way which is even cooler I think. If you've yet to jump on board one of Image's best ongoing series which is also one of the best monthly comic being published, then you have the perfect opportunity to do so with this issue. It's fun to see Mike and Tim's characters through new styles. Skottie Young on the cover and Art on the interiors bring a fresh feel to the book and I hope to see every and all books with a bit of Art's style here and there. Read Full Review

All in all, this isn't a bad issue. It's certainly not groundbreaking, nor the best the series can offer, but focusing on the main cast and keeping character development in focus is never a bad thing for a small-town setting such as Revival. Read Full Review

Its not all bad. There are one or two minor character moments, and Mike Norton gets to experiment with a different type of visual format as he replicates the drawing of Danas son Cooper following his abduction in the last issue. But its not remotely enough to save this issue. Revival began as one of the more promising comics of last year. But every time an issue like this comes along, it begins to seem more like a wasted opportunity. Read Full Review

Not a bad issue, it's just that there are half a dozen plot lines building and we're just starting this arc, so not much happens. The series reads well in trade.
