I have no idea how the history of the Realm unfolded, at what point Middle Earth melded with Middle America, but I really don't care. This book is pure badassery, and the potential here is endless. This story feels like Mad Max and Escape from New York, where everything is divided into territories and there are groups that rule and people who profit. Haun and Peck have taken an establishment in science fiction/fantasy that works very well in storytelling and hopefully created a fresh take on heroes and villains. Read Full Review

Wow! What an AMAZING start to this series. Be sure to grab this on 9/6 and make it the first book you read this week. We highly recommend this book. Can't wait for issue 2.

"The Realm" is a like a Sci-fi mashup in my opinion mixed with Mad Maxx vibes and the whole messed world in a dystopian state. This book was pure enjoyment from the first page to the last. Bravo to the team! Consisting of Seth M. Peck, Jeremy Haun, Nick Filardi, and Thomas Mauer, which like I said bravo well done all around, from the writing to the great, gritty art that went perfect with the time period. This is on my pull and I recommend anyone fans of worlds in chaos, where you barter goods and add in supernatural creatures you have to fight which makes it a Sci-fi as well is a must for any fan of just great put together books from the art and coloring to the lettering. It all flows go pick up if that is what you like, and even if you do n't I'd still recommend cos it's a strong book. 10 out of 10 more

Mix of different genres but it works really well. Action, mystery, interesting characters and post apocalyptic world which is beautifully drawn by Jeremy Haun. It's like mix of your favourite fantasy, sci-fi and post apocalyptic movies.

Thanks to the preview, I brought it. I'm not a Walking Dead reader. I have read the first TPB, but that's too dark for me. ... So that's a dark place to live too. I will give you that. And we never see what happen & how. I like the part when they hide from a shadowing form (A treat in the sky that even us don't see). I don't like the fact that human are still human, and do bad stuff. But I'm intrigued by see Ork, Goblin & other kind of fantasy creature. For now not much sadly. The art was interesting. Their is room for improvement, but still a great job. I will wait for the next issue. Well done to the creative team.

The Realm is good, but it's getting a little more critical praise than I'd expect. It's not much different from your run of the mill dystopian future comic, having orcs and goblins doesn't make it drastically different. So far the main character is somewhat interesting, but the number of other character introductions for one issue is getting a bit carried away. The dude with the axe-gun thing for example; that scene added nothing to the comic, he could have been introduced later in a much more organic way.
