Nailbiter #16 overall is worth reading not only as a Halloween special, but as an issue that answers most of the questions we had about where things left off in Nailbiter #15 while leading us into the next story arc. We now know what to expect with enough closure to look to the future. Read Full Review

But those are minor quibbles in yet another great issue of a comic that continues to be my pull list favorite. If you haven't picked up this series yet, go buy the first three trades, grab a cup of coffee, and enjoy an expertly crafted horror epic during the best time of year to read one. If you are one of the many who've already been bitten by the Nailbiter bug (like me), then you'll be happy to know that best horror comic on the shelves has returned with its usually knack for giving readers delicious story treats and avoiding narrative tricks. It feels like (yet another) red herring, just because I'm not sure how he would have gotten from Oregon to Georgia in a night and kill somebody ritualistically by dawn the next day. It being a false twist is not necessarily a bad thing. I'm hoping it's another killer that will give the series a plotline to work with that isn't "Is Carroll going to wake up?" Is the fact that the guy is made-up as a devil a reference to Devil's Day, November 1st? Maybe. Hopefully there will be a reason to care in #17. I've basically run out of those for this series.
