Gideon Falls was already a horror comic that dug deep under your skin and made for some dread-filled reading. Writer Jeff Lemire has upped the terror and intrigue a thousandfold with this arc. This is not just a solid horror book it's now working on a whole other level. It's no wonder this is being developed for TV. Things are coming together! Seeing Norton's demons form as a child was genuinely terrifying to read. Not only that Lemire's characters all feel like real people w/ issues. as the mystery of the barn continues we see the protagonists crossing paths in one way or another. Can't wait for the next issue!

I've been tearing through some past issues of this series after stalling out after issue 3. I'm so happy I kept picking up the series though. Lemire is the master of weird and thoughtful comics, and this issue dials up the intrigue even more. Sorentino's art continues to excel as well. The composite image double page spread in this issue was fantastic!

I genuinely feel despair for Norton locked up in an institution. Such a well written character. Some really fun plot twists and we finally see some threads between Father Fred and Norton's stories. I actually dropped this after issue 6 to trade wait Vol. 2 and couldn't help myself so i'm back, don't think I could wait for the trade.

I love it comic. Usually, horror comics don't do much for me because they're just not scary. Gideon falls in what a horror comic should be, not only is it scary, but you feel the darkness in these pages. Very cool stuff.

THE GOOD: -I loved the flashback scene at the beginning. Super creepy and super cool -The art was phenomenal. These two are currently one of my favorite creative teams at the moment. It works so well with the writing and just feels like something special. -I do like seeing Norton so helpless, it is interesting to see him at a weak point again. -That one two-page splash (you know the one I'm talking about) is amazing. Super amazing. -That scene where Wilfred seemingly enters the past was so cool. I loved that scene. -It's nice to see Wilfred and Clara teeming up again. They worked great together in the first story arc. -It's so satisfying and amazing to see the worlds begin to cross over. I cannot wait for the next i ssues. THE BAD: -I'm not a fan of this Kadri villain. First off, Joe Reddy was a way better villain and it felt cooler when Xu and Norton were trying to fight off some intangible villain, the Black Barn or the smiling man. I really hope Kadri isn't the smiling man, I hope they would save that for a better character. more
