The art from Sorrentino and Stewart here are great as it always gives us a feeling of dreadfulness and leaves you a bit uncomfortable in the situations, especially when things go a bit dark. There's a fantastic silhouette piece drawn in one of the pages and is a fantastic image of Dr. Xu and Norton with a dark omen that looms over them. I'm enjoying so much on how we're learning a bit more and more on our characters in this series and they really grow on you as you want them to find out what is really going on here and hope they come out alive from it. Hooray for more backstory about the Black Barn that we have now realize is more than what it appears to be. And more to the history about Gideon Farms which is keeping the story moving strongly. Lemire and Sorrentino are building something mysterious and stunning with Gideon Falls. Father Tom keeps questioning his faith, Dr. Xu is losing her mind from what she has seen, and Norton may be the only one to help Dr. Xu. Save for the last few pages, not a whole lot really happens in this story, resulting in a bit of a slower issue this time around. That's completely fine though, as we finally get a little bit of insight into the black barn and even though we don't really get any explanations, baby steps are sufficient when the story is this good. Lemire and Sorrentino have a horrific thing of beauty on their hands here and now that we're four issues in, I sincerely hope that we're just getting started! Read Full Review

Gideon Falls #4 isnt the fastest-moving issue, but it does keep the reader engaged by drip-feeding more history of the town and the Barn as well as the compelling leads. Plus, Sorrentino and Stewart keep the book looking top-notch. This one comes recommended. Pick it up. Read Full Review

Lemire and Sorrentino are a dream team when they team up. I'm enjoying every issue, and it gets stronger each issue. Definitely pick this up if your a Lemire or Sorrentino fan then look for the back issues or wait for the tpb, because it's an excellent book all around.

Gideon Falls proofs to be one of the best series to have come out from Image Comics. Jeff Lemire just proofs why he is one of the best writers in the comic industry. While this issue is a bit slow paced, it still never stoped me from thinking what will happen next. Great art by Andrea Sorrentino and great colouring by Dave Stewart that fits the tone of this book very well. Though there are a few typing errors and incomplete sentences in this book. Overall, another great issue of Gideon Falls.

I like the slow burn. Lemire is really taking his time drawing the reader into the mystery bit by bit and gradually increasing the anxiety levels, carefully building suspense and pushing the characters towards what will inevitably be an inescapable sense of dread. Good stuff. Sorrentino's art is perfect for this genre.
