Dave Stewart's colors complete the experience, particularly with his use of red.  That shade means danger and when it appears on the page, the scare factor goes up.  Since most of the issue looks grim and dark, red stands out in a vibrant, violent nature.  It's a shock to the system.  Gideon Falls has pulled me in completely.  I still have a lot of questions, but the tone of the story and the mystery surrounding the Black Barn is more than enough to keep me interested.  We're still learning about the main characters, however we know enough about them to get wrapped up in their lives and want to see this through. Gideon Falls plays out as something that I would find to be really intriguing if it was a late night premium cable series. I can envision the flow of it, the characters that inhabit it, and the way that the Black Barn and the red light around it would be quite chilling to say the least. As a comic, it's going to take some time to really warm up to as it's going for the slow unfolding of events, which makes sense for it, but it feels like it just needs a little more of a hook to really cement it for me. The first issue was consistent but fairly safe in everything it did. It had that one killer scene which made it seem like American Gothic or some dramatic TV show with a grounded supernatural feel to it. The second issue doesn't have that one killer scene though and is a bit duller because of it. It's all consistent and safe, but nothing is so thrilling or interested that someone would need to keep reading. There's not dying need to know what the Black Barn is because so far, it's just there. Sure, there's a small element added, but it was expected, much like the rest of the plot. If you enjoyed the first issue, you're sure to enjoy the second, but if you didn't, there's nothing here that's going to change your mind. I'll likely stick with it for review sake, but my excitement has diminished a lot from the first issue. Read Full Review

Another great issue from Jeff Lemire and team. I really enjoyed the mystery here and how both the protagonists suffer while discovering the truth behind the "Black Barn". This issue also had very good moments with the Dr. Xu character. I am still very intrigued in seeing where this mystery heads and cant wait for the answers to be revealed. As always great writing from Jeff Lemire and the always great art by Andrea Sorrentino that fits the tone of this book perfectly and at the same time keeps the creepiness touch to it. Overall, a very good follow up to the first issue.

Gideon Falls continues to be a haunting story with tesion and great art. Serrentino is typically not my favorite but his style in horror is a great fit. Lemire is crafting a story that makes the reader feel like they are at the edge of a cliff they can not see and no one knows how deep we will fall. If you want a great horror series than do yourself a favor and jump into this book.

This issue was a lot of fun and is really building the mystery and characters well. Not a big fan of the art. The backgrounds and things look really good but all the guys look like evil steve rogers in secret empire.

Norton continues with his therapy but something suddenly makes him go to Dr. Xu and ask for help but she seems reluctant at first. Father Quin tells the police his story of the events that happened but his story is not convincing at all. He calls the Bishop for help but to no avail. Then, another body is found... In this second issue we get to know the characters a little better. The art is creepy and fitting. As for the story, it readslike a movie adaptation, like you can take it and film a movie scene by scene, panel by panel.I don't know if that is good or bad but it's good.

The second part was more difficult for me. That's start to be weirder and the vibes are more heavy on the dark part. I still cared for the character so I don't like the Inequity Father Fred lived. Cover - Still great 2/2 Writing - Still great in the construct. But more darker & sometime unfair. 2/3 Arts - Still love the art. 3/3 Feeling - Sorry but not really for me 0/2
