Destro #4 definitely delivered on paying off some subplots while setting up some very intriguing directions to take in the final issue. This ride just keeps getting better so the conclusion should certainly be a fascinating one on the road to G.I. Joe #1. Read Full Review

Tomax and Xamot argue that Destro is dead. Artyom Darklon assumes that his cousin is dead. Astoria Carlton Ritz of Hybrid Technologies believes her business rival is dead. But like Snake Plissken, rumors of his death are greatly exaggerated. James McCullen Destro is forging partnerships with major players in the arms industry to reclaim MARS and ensure he doesn't lose access to Cobra Commander's otherworld energy source in Destro #4. Destro #4 does an awesome job of continuing the origin story of one of the best villains from the world of G.I Joe. Dan Watters takes some chances and gambles on running a story that has so many layers. His gamble, however, pays off in a big way and leaves you wanting more. The last page surprise appearance really sets the table for where this story will go next. Read Full Review

You Don't Read Comics - Russ Bickerstaff

Watters momentum going into the third issue was quite impressive. That momentum gets reduced a bit as Destro finds the woman he thinks is looking to have him killed. It really SHOULD be more of an intense showdown, but something gets lost between the script, the art and the issues that have led into the third. It doesnt quite hit the potential that it really could have managed and so it feels like a brief moment of  gradual motion before the narrative settles-down into its big finale next month.  Read Full Review

DESTRO #4 is an uneven, rushed, overstuffed issue that introduces several big ideas in a hurry before the finale next month. In fairness, several of those ideas are intriguing, but the rushed execution by Dan Watters tries to do too much while accomplishing not enough. Read Full Review

Once again an exposition heavy issue but it still works. Destro talks a lot then abruptly kills. So on brand. Interesting to see how the weapon makers weapons might have become the big bad. Not unique per say but it moves the plot forward. I quite enjoy all these characters honestly. There is some silliness to them and these entire situation is rather wonky but also high stakes and terrible. I enjoy this chaotic energy.

This issue was almost all exposition. Chameleon was just thrown into the mix in the last issue, I expected some explanation to who she was, how she knew where he was in his secret hideout, but we didn't get any. We got the explanation of the AI satellite, but she isn't getting information from it. It sounds like it's the big baddie. Let's see how this closes up.
