For a moment, Barrier #5 allows the mismatched protagonists to level with one another, but things turn topsy-turvy when an unexpected shift lands the pair somewhere they never expected to go. Read Full Review

Like the other issues in this series, the artwork did an exceptional job of complementing the plot. It was rough and jagged, just like real life. Read Full Review

    Bleeding Cool - Joshua Davison

Barrier #5 isnt bad, but its not as smart as issues prior. The focus on language and strained connections across cultures is copped out upon. The ending is far from satisfying. Liddy and Oscar are still great characters, but youre left wanting better for them. The art is the biggest saving grace here, and its why I can still give this book a recommendation, if a bit less enthusiastic than recommendations to prior installments. Feel free to check this one out, though. Read Full Review

Oh man. A decent ending for sure. But without being able to understand half the series I feel kinda ripped off. Tis Bittersweet. I'm jelly of those that can understand espanol. I could translate it on the web but at this point I can't be bothered.

The end isn't bad but let be honest, it's not what I expected & I wonder if that was a end ... Cover - Ok I see what they did there. Related & nice. 1.5/2 Writing - It was not bad, but that was really weird & I didn't like what was showed like the end. 2/3 Arts - Arts is still good 3/3 Feeling - Damn I didn't enjoyed it as much as the 4 other. 1/2

I liked the first issue of "Barrier" but have continued to be befuddled by it with each issue, largely due to the Spanish captions; for some of this I hit "GoogleTranslate," other times I muddled through--this issue, though, was more comprehensible in that it fills in the background tragedies that each of our main characters is dealing with. It ends in a surprising way which, when you think about it, is not surprising at all in that we have had the fate and lives of our characters obstructed throughout the series, so this fate is kind of in tune. If kind of disappointing, to sort of overemphasize his themes of the barriers of language. Marcos Martin's art was the best since the first issue--a certain 2 key scenes were expertly portrayed in more
