Feb 23, 2022Transformers: War's End #1 is good. It has me wanting to check out the second issue but also had me a little lost as to the various factions and who Exarchon is. The threat is hinted at but the case is never really made that this is a major deal that could destroy everyone. The issue really missed that throwing readers into the story instead of building up things so we have a villain to really fear. Read Full Review

Yet, War's End maintains the same sluggish pace as the main Transformers series, with readers waiting for everyone else to catch up to what they already: that Exarchon is indeed back and ready to begin the Three-Fold Spark's conquest once more. This is a direct continuation of the plot in the main series so I'm not sure why it is its own series other than to get the plot out faster and in a more concentrated format than the main title has been so far. Maybe all the subplots will start to get their own title. Hopefully they converge into a satisfying conclusion before IDW loses their publishing rights.
