Amazing character moments and incredibly well-drawn action sequences make this the best issue in an already fantastic story arc. Read Full Review

On Comics Ground - Luis Cruz

This arc has quickly become everything I was hoping for. The invasion is fully underway and with every turn the major players have joined the fight. What waits for the Triceraton army will not be an easy task and I fear the City of New York will never be the same again. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles truly find themselves smacked in the middle between helping an ally who they have fought with before and attacked first as they come in peace, or stop them from destroying everything they know and love. What The Foot and Bishop have planned will only make things worse and I fear that the Turtles will be making some hard decisions really soon. Read Full Review

Word Of The Nerd - Brent Jackson

Overall, this has been a good storyline that has brought the Turtles in new directions. They are the peacekeepers and are now in direct conflict with their father and how he leads the foot clan. I think I am enjoying more of what it is settingup than the actual storyline. That is not to say the storyline is not good or enjoyable, it is; I just like the implications of what is to come afterward as well. Turtle fans will be excited about the developments in TMNT #78 and there is no real reason not to pick up this issue. Read Full Review

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #78 ends suggesting this is just the start of things to come. Fans of a more fantasy-driven Turtles may put this issue down feeling that this world is getting overrun with realism, but those who know the legacy of these books will likely see it as a new take on a classic formula, one that has been done better at times than others. As tension builds and the cast assembles, we are primed for the invasion of the Planet Earth. Tempered by all the parties involved, and the moral implications from the Alien Tribunal the Turtles are caught between a Rock and a hard place. Things are heating up here in the Sewers! Check out Issues #77 and 78, and see the beginning of the next epic chapter in the Turtles Lives! Read Full Review

Big Comic Page - Craig Neilson-Adams

Ultimately however, for one of the most consistent ongoing titles of the past six or seven years, IDWs TMNT series definitely feels like its treading water here. The mixture of nuanced storytelling and big-time blockbuster action has been replaced by what feels like an uninspired attempt to flesh a simple misunderstanding out into a full-fledged arc, and while there are some decent moments along the way, I honestly cant wait for this arc to end a sentence I never thought Id write about this particular series.
