The "story behind" isn't very complicated, unlike many other sagas. Just the recent Star Trek "volume 1" #1-10 and Defiant #1-5 will give you everything you need. (OK, it helps if you know who Worf & Spock & Sisko & Scotty & Voyager's Tom Paris + B'Elanna are, but you probably know that already.) Anymoo, the mythical Klingon warrior Kahless is back, vowing to avenge every wrong done to Klingons every- and anywhere, and he's found a couple of truly terrifying weapons to do so. That's it!

Jul 28, 2023If you've been following ComicsOnline over the last few months, you probably know how much we've been enjoying the IDW Star Trek books. The creative team has carved out a unique story within the greater Star Trek world, adding rich character development and engaging interactions with each passing issue. Star Trek: Day of Blood #1 feels like a critical moment for Trek, and this stellar first installment has established that more dark days are ahead for Sisko, Worf, and their respective crews. There is so much to love in this book, and I couldn't narrow down my favorite character pairing if I wanted to. Do yourself a favor and grab this issue (as well as the previous IDW Publishing Star Trek comics) from your Local Comic Store this week. This is an event that you don't want to miss. Read Full Review

You Don't Read Comics - Russ Bickerstaff
Jul 25, 2023There have been A LOT of Star Trek comics over the years. Older series never really managed to capture the feel of an episode as well as the contemporary issues. Day of Blood connects to the Next Generation with such strength that it honestly feels kind of weird that the episode ends where it does, only like...22 minutes into the story. It feels like the story should resume at the end of the commercial break and not...like...a couple of weeks from now as the crossover continues in Defiant #6, which is due out on August 2nd.
