First Strike #4

First Strike #4 is a high quality outing that makes full use of these Hasbro properties without feeling forced. It's a real compliment to the creative team that as they, so far, have kept their trajectory focused on the elements it needs to pay attention to. First Strike so far as ticked all the boxes for a comic book event; it's had big action, big personalities, and big stakes. And now it is has ticked another one with issue four in that it now has a contained, expository issue where nothing much happens, biding time until the plot's second wind kicks in. It's not often that I find myself wishing an event comic had a smaller scope, but that's where we are with First Strike. As fun as it is to see so many Hasbro characters mashed together in one epic team-up, the series is only really making great use of a small handful. Read Full Review

This issue is actually decent thanks to the character development, dialogue, and the near exclusive focus on G.I. Joe and Transformers. I will say though, Optimus didn't deserve to get chastised as he did, he didn't even have a chance to say what he wanted to say. I don't really get the backup story.
