The Green Hornet #8

This issue is a solid distraction from the events unfolding in the main progression. If you want to just keep your attention on that then maybe you might skip this issue, but if not you're in for something a bit more light-hearted than you're used to. This is good in a sense that Green Hornet comes off as more of a hero in this story rather than playing the role of something that he's really not. Again Mark Waid excels at these kind of grounded stories and it shows as you have a bit more of an understanding of how Green Hornet operates through his networks. It's worth a read in the end. We've had great Green Hornet stories, but this is one with some heart. Waid presents a nice sidestep before diving back into the hard-edged story we've been following. This one doesn't match up with the solicit info yet again, but that's just one of those things that may just irk me. Read Full Review

Although there's no mention of Christmas, the story fits well as a holiday-themed one-shot. It's also a nice break from the series' long opening arc (and I would love to see more single issue adventures in the months to come). Worth a look. Read Full Review

Although this wasn't too new reader friendly, it was still an interesting issue with a dark tone, having a lot of suspense and intensity throughout it and I'd recommend anyone to give this issue a go, even if it's just to see whether you like the series overall style. Read Full Review
