Wonder Woman #776

We venture down another rabbit hole as we chase Cloonan and Conrads run through another dimension for our titular heroine and her companions, Siggy and Ratty, into the land of faerie. The creators are world building a lush, and diverse land for Wonder Woman to venture into, while still remaining true to her roots. The level of craftsmanship, love, and care these two bring is only elevated by the absolute mastery that is Jill Thompsons art. An issue worthy of a standing ovation. Read Full Review

Once again, the two-story balance allows a single issue of Wonder Woman to feel that much more substantial than the standard, single 30-page chapter. Theres an enjoyable balance between a seasoned Diana and a Bellaires younger coming-of-age Themysciran tale. Bellaires doing a beautiful job with Young Diana, who still really needs her own series, but the balance shes lending the main title with her B feature is really appealing.  Read Full Review

Diana gets a change of pace issue as she enters Faerie land on her way back home. It's a beautifully illustrated issue that doesn't give away anything, but suggests many possibilities as to how "Afterwolrds" will play out. Wonder Woman #776 continues Diana's incredible journey with this issue having a unique feel and flair in Elfhame and due to the art of Jill Thompson. Read Full Review

Wonder Woman continues to be the biggest disappointment coming out of Future State.  This issue feels like a side quest in a series full of them and can be skipped entirely.  I keep hoping things will get better, but unfortunately, they keep doing the opposite. Read Full Review

I had a pretty good time with this issue; maybe it was the art reminiscent of Sandman, maybe it was the odd situations that occur, maybe it's how the magic works and how Diana uses it to her advantage, maybe it was Diana giving the blooming fairies a little payback. In any case, I like the character interactions going on and I wonder what's to come now that everything's reached the end of this issue.

One of the weaker Issues. Being in Elfhame for a bit longer would have surely helped flesh the story out more. There was quite a lot of showing instead of telling. I still enjoyed some of the story beats. Especially the connection between Odin’s and Elfhame’s magic. I didn’t expect Cloonan to draw the last two pages but they were a pleasant surprise. While Thompson’s art invoked a Vertigo feel, Cloonan’s art really brought the characters' emotions to life. The backup story didn’t excite me as much this time. While there is some progression, the revelations aren’t anything new. I still want to know what it is all about, but if I could skip to the conclusion of the backup, I would.

Wonder woman is the worse title that came out of DM. Pity since Diana was a main hero there.
