Wonder Woman #766

The complexities that Tamaki is working with are fiercely interesting. Seeing Max Lord do what Max Lord does at the end of the issue is a bit of a disappointment in light of this. This is still only the beginning of the end for the story arc, though. Theres a chance that Lord could be engaging in something more interesting than simple villainy. The inner convolutions of Lords psyche have an opportunity to present themselves next issue. Read Full Review

Steve Pugh delivers some excellent art in this issue. Not only do the characters look great and there are some awesome details in the backgrounds and panels, but the effects of Diana's blindness are stunning in their look. A great looking issue. Read Full Review

By eschewing Diana's mythological roots for the most part and paying tribute to her old-school run as a super-spy, Tamaki has given the title a breath of fresh air. I'm not sure every issue lands perfectly, but it's building into something very compelling. Read Full Review

This scavenger hunt for stolen Maxwell Lord tech has been filler from the start, and while Maxwell finally makes his move by the end, it doesn't make up for the ill-defined, laughable story before it. I think I would have liked this more if we had gotten more of good guy Max Lord, or at least any hint at all that he was trying to be nice.
