WildC.A.T.S. #1

WildCATS #1 is a hit out of the gate. The characters are varied, standing out from each other. There are some fun ways the team's targets have infiltrated the DCU. I look forward to seeing who else they've corrupted and what happens when they have run-ins with other heroes. This issue was fun and a sheer blast to read. Read Full Review

Thirty years after the meteoric rise to the peak of comic stardom comes this all new series breathing life into this cast of characters that have been unfortunately shelved for the majority of the last decade. DC seems committed to making them work, especially since Jim Lee, the WildCats creator, is the current DC publisher. In the end, it's not often readers get to spend time with Grifter anymore. Outside of this, it's only been Batman: Urban Legends and his recent appearance in DC vs. Vampires. Plus, this is just a limited series. I'm more than happy to see if the colors become a non-issue for me over the next couple issues while taking in a strong line artist and a writer who handles the main character so well. WildC.A.T.s #1 captures the voice of the original characters. Still, the mission makes little sense, no stakes or urgency are established, the art is mildly better than average (except for a horrible Grifter redesign), and the whole issue fails to grab you on any level. Read Full Review

I liked DC vs Vampires and All-Out War, I have all the issues so I figured this should be good since Matthew Rosenburg wrote it. Nope, garbage, no idea what is going on here. Lame art, writing is atrocious. The next issue sucks just as much.
