God this is a masterpiece in villain monologuing, and the inversion of the trope in the last line with his reveal of the timing is the masterstroke. Moore capitalizing on every send up of the genre he possibly can, and the infamous one about to happen.

A solid issue that has an absurd plot. I laughed at the histrionics of it all and a part of me feels like that was the point but if so it somewhat undermines the premise of the story so far. But hey it was good reading. The visuals are outstanding.

i think there's this odd assumption that people want to know EVERY thought you've wanted to put into a comic book

For this, I feel like it is best to start off with my main criticisms: 1: Veidt's language. Listen, I know to read you gotta know some synonyms and stuff, but tryna decipher what Veidt is saying at times is very difficult, and often pulls me out of important moments like when he poisoned his subordinates, I was too focused on keeping up with his dialogue I didnt notice these guys were dead and didnt notice the foreshadowing, hurting this sequence of panels in the process. 2: Art miscolorings often dampen the impact of rather impactful scenes 3: Slow start, the start of this issue is rather slow, and how the other four issues before it started compared to this, this issue just starts at a freakishly poor pace, which sucks. 4: God damn pirate story, I understand its important for the plot, but it honestly just pulls me out of it so much its insane, esp with how short and predictable what was gonna happen, just didnt feel that impactful ultimately, 5: Nitpicks with how Rorschach didnt feel the cold in the flipping contient of Antarctica, and how Doug Roth describes himself at the bottom of the gene pool, which is the nitpickest of them all cuz dudes gen beautiful, and Alan Moore making up a quote from Ford to fit his story, just felt really lazy. Other than that, wow...Cold reveal man, like woah, what hes doing with that alien, bro I'm gen hyped for the other issue, good plot, good characters, mostly everything is good aside from these 5 main criticisms I have, I hope issue 12 ties everything really well cause I want this to be highly rated story for me frl. more
