Teen Titans #7

Oh man, if you havent been reading Teen Titans, you really should be. It takes the core of what made popular iterations of the series work, like the emphasis on character relationships and their relationships to their parents, and adds an injection of freshness and modernity. A super-fun issue that was perfectly balanced and showed exactly what a team book needs to be. Teen Titans is definitely something to watch, and with it still being early days for the series, this particular issue promises some big things in the series' future. I can't fault it in any way. Rebirth has perhaps been no kinder to any title than it has been toTeen Titans. The series continues to be fun. It has all the fun of a Saturday morning cartoon, with just a faint touch of Wolfman/Perez era nostalgia. Damian may be struggling to help the team find their groove, but comic has certainly already found their own. Read Full Review

This issue served its purpose in identifying Aqualad's value as a new team member for the Teen Titans and setting the book up for a future arc that will most likely take place after the Lazarus Contract crossover event with Deathstroke and Titans. Nothing about it stuck out to me in particular, but that isn't necessary for it to be a good read. I'm enjoying this series so far and hopefully it has nowhere to go but up from here. While this was a paint-by-numbers introduction for Aqualad, it was still an enjoyable read.  The team is learning to work together, and Damian has no choice but to learn how to lead... even if he needs to throw out his original playbook. Read Full Review

This second book in this story arc was an improvement on the first for sure. If you don't mind Robin's annoyances, then you will definitely love this issue.The last page sets up what should be an interesting next issue, and the beginnings of the massive 3 book crossover, "The Lazarus Contract." Overall, this is a decent, if a bit rushed, ending to the reintroduction of Jackson Hyde. The book could have benefited from another issue. It is not by any means a deal breaker, though. I for one am excited to see what kind of adventures the Teen Titans get in going forward. Read Full Review

This series continues to satisfy and intrigue on every level. IMO this is the best iteration of the Teen Titans ever so far.

Wow, I don't feel like this holds a candle to the NTT Wolfman Perez run or TT by Johns and Grummet. That's pretty lofty company.

Its pretty good. I'll be honest, I'm not really sold on the new Aqualad. Kaldur in the Young Justice Cartoon was serious and badass and confident, and it feels like a complete 180 to make him this indecisive person who desperately wants to be accepted. I should be clear, this doesn't make him a bad character, at all, it makes sense for his situation and he is handled alright. It just feels odd to me that this character really has nothing attaching him to Kaldur other then appearance and one aspect of his backstory. Other then that, decent action and some sold character work.
