    Geek Dad - Ray Goldfield

The villains are fairly generic for most of the issue, mostly serving as supervillains to force Superman into action, but there are some really fun twists along the way including the creepy Toyman, who looks like a little ventriloquist dummy, turning out to be one of the unsung heroes of this issue. "The Greatest Green Lantern and The Man of Tomorrow team up for a thrilling outer space tale for the ages. Slott and Adams present a timeless take with their writing skills. Meyer and Maiolo bring out the best (and worst) of the co-star while presenting the drama. If you're lookin for a great superhero tale, this is your book. Read Full Review

The Comic Book Spot - Jeremy Bonnette

Superman Unlimited #8 is on par with the previous issue in terms of rating. It's more of a standalone story that doesn't focus heavily on Superman. Fans of Guy Gardner will want to check this one out, as he's his usual crabby self. Have fun, comic lovers! Read Full Review

The jig is up with the Durlans captured and Guy returning to Earth with the rescued real Lois and gang. There isn't much in this issue to tie into the main 'so much Kryptonite' arc outside of the rocket being powered by Kryptonite engines made by the Toyman. So we are still puttering along. I almost wish Slott was doing a sort of Superman Confidential style book, just telling fun stories with no real impact on continuity. That is what seems to suit him. Read Full Review

The Aspiring Kryptonian - David Beasley

    Dec 17, 2025

While Superman Unlimited #8 is a fun read, it really comes off as a "filler issue. Stagg's motivations aren't made very clear and other than Kryptonite being used in the spacecraft construction, it really doesn't touch on the overall plot points from previous issues. Still, it could be seen as a great jump on point as the next issue is sure to be fascinating. Read Full Review

Superman Unlimited #8 falls short of its promise, choosing to sideline Lois Lane for a trite alien invasion story. Read Full Review

Superman Unlimited #8 is an entertaining one-shot that may be filler, but is still exciting. While this story doesnt contribute to the wider story, its still a fun read. Its the perfect issue full of funny dialogue, beautiful art, and exciting new beginnings. Read Full Review
