Very solid use of Toyman and Lex. Kind of reminded me of the animated series a bit.

really enjoyed this issue maybe not as much as the first two but still, I liked it a lot. lex Luthor is saucy as hell and kinda feels like he has everyone under his thumb. Clark is still adorable. the fight scene was alright, I liked it but it wasn't anything mindblowing and nothing near the battle from the first issue. the art is still really good and most of the main cast is extremely charming. overall still pretty good.

The art is great.
The comic does have a feeling of old stories. I don't like Lane in all 3 issues. Seems forced and not a very good person.
But, I feel this one was the strongest issue. Really liked the art.

Another issue proving Robert Venditti is a WAY BETTER Superman writer than Bendis ever will be. Like #1 it gives us the Lex Luthor of the '80s and '90s. Another thing I enjoy about this series is that it allows Clark to be a reporter through part of the story and we get to see him puzzle Perry with his sudden disappearances. It's a lot like old times.
The only things I can complain about are the Toyman wearing that Stupid-ass costume from the animated series and Lois referring to Clark as "Smallville" on page 5 (I loathe when she calls him that). I never liked the '90s cartoon much. I still say its inspiration caused Jeph Loeb and Ed McGuiness to ruin the comics 20 years ago and its influence still ruins them in ways today (Luckily not as
bad now as it did then).
Still, the great storytelling and artwork provide a good comic worthy of print. It's age-friendly as well, so younger readers can see Superman at his finest. What I like best is it gives us a simple adventure for Superman, still full of action and adventure, but it doesn't drag on and on and on and on like Bendis' work. He's been writing both of the printed titles for 2 years now and I don't think one issue he's written contains the words "The end."
I can't give this issue alone as high a review as I'd give to the series all together, but I still highly recommend it. Especially to longtime fans. more

This is not as strong as issues one & two but still enjoyable..to a degree. I enjoy a lot about this issue though. First off, I love Dan Mora's cover for this issue is brilliant. His style is very suitable for animation, cartoons, etc, so anytime I get to see more of his artwork I'm elated. Second is the banter between Lex Luthor & Clark Kent. Their conversations during the two interviews of this issue really showcases their personalities but also their disdain for each other. Clark is aware of Lex's manipulation & usual antics, while Lex is smart enough to never admit any suspicious activity. It's entertaining. But the this issue isn't as strong as the previous two, is mainly because of the villain. Toyman is such a throw away villain. Whi
ch sucks because he represents the "mom & pop shop" that gets bought & has its named tarnished by a bigger conglomerate. And, like this issue, that premise is used to help further the antagonist's plan. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate a good old Clark Kent/Superman vs Lex Luthor, but i just wish we were able to see more of Toyman's perspective. more
