I may have been looking at this book from a different angle than a lot of people, but I feel as though Straczynski brought an old-school feel back to Superman, teaching us, the loyal readers, a life lesson, but still being able to keep a modern feel to it. What postulating garbage this was. The whole story is a sledgehammer of just idiots talking down to Supes. Then Supes talking down about people. The dialogue is stillborn and the abuse in the book is boilerplate trope. Just bad all around.
